M.AI.ESTRO Project Launch

On Monday 19th May, Construct Furniture proudly hosted the official launch of M.AI.ESTRO – Mixed-Reality AI-Enhanced Skills Transfer & Robotic Optimisation for Industry 4.0– Mixed-Reality AI-Enhanced Skills Transfer & Robotic Optimisation for Industry 4.0 – a pioneering national research initiative set to transform how industrial skills are transferred and preserved in Malta.

This national initiative, led by Professor Alexiei Dingli from the University of Malta’s Faculty of ICT, brings together cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, mixed-reality training, and robotic process optimisation to transform the way industrial skills are preserved and transferred. The project aims to capture the expertise of experienced workers and digitise it, enabling faster onboarding, smarter training, and greater continuity across Malta’s manufacturing and technical sectors.

The event was hosted by Mr Ivan Busuttil Naudi, with contributions from project partners including SG Solutions and Ing. James Attard Kingswell. Attendees included the Hon. Keith Azzopardi Tanti, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research, and Innovation, the Dean of the Faculty of ICT, as well as representatives from academia, the press, and Malta’s industrial sector.

These investments have allowed us to scale while maintaining craftsmanship, improving efficiency, and supporting a seamless flow of communication across departments.

It’s a major step forward in Malta’s journey toward Industry 4.0 — and one that speaks directly to the future of our sector.

Our Team welcomed attendees with an overview of Construct’s journey — from a local manufacturer to a regional leader in residential, commercial, hospitality, and large-scale development sectors across Malta and international markets including Libya, Ghana, and the UK.

As part of the programme, our guests were given a guided tour of our manufacturing facility. The walkthrough offered a first-hand look at our end-to-end production process, from design and material handling to assembly and final quality checks — showcasing the scale and capability that define Construct Furniture’s operation.
